Cindy and Mary are so excited to have a new product to offer and had such a great time creating these one-of-a-kind works of art.  The illumination gives the silk vibrancy and the colors radiate in a dramatic way.  Fine galleries and specialty furniture stores occasionally offer unique lamps of this nature.  The shade is created with 100% silk adhered to a lamp shade material and assembled by hand.  The silk used for the lamp is painted by hand in a similar manner to the way in which the silk scarves are created.  The sisters learned to make the lamps from Karen Sistek, Master Silk Painter.  Mary’s husband, Bob Hackstock, improved upon the original store purchased lamp by making the lamps in his home workshop with the aid of his homemade 3D printer and CNC machine.   He uses LED lights which will provide 50,000 hours of illumination.  The lamps are about 20” tall and a diameter of 7-1/2”.  The LED lights burn cool and conserve electricity so continual use is economical.  The lamps are offered with a variety of bases including live edge cherry and birch.  The lamps can be customized as they did for their sister’s family farm.  What a wonderful house warming gift for that cottage on the lake!
