Something Silk specializes in hand-painted silk. So far, that has included lamps, wall-hangings, men's ties with pocket squares, tank tops and of course, scarves of all sizes.
Our original designs often reflect our hometown -Detroit and local architecture but also nature, travel and whatever strikes our interest. We use 100% silk, the best dyes and a variety of techniques. Each piece is steam set for colorfastness and can be hand washed.
We're trying new techniques all the time. New this year is a water marbling process called ebru. It was fun and created some unique ties & scarves! And we haven't forgotten about cut velvet. It makes a lovely Christmas gift.
